The presentation was aptly entitled, "Discussion: Special Education." The overall goal of the
presentation was to spur social-justice discussions, using Professor Crevecoeur's path into academe as an anchor; topics included (a) Professor Crevecoeur's experiences in education and the juvenile justice
system; (b) students' cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds; and (c) historical, legal, and policy developments in special education. Discussions revolved around how sociology and public management students could capitalize on the relationships between schools and society to improve future policies.
