Setting up Math Workshop: Building Structures and Routines for All Students for Grades K-8

This summer institute will support teachers to (re)design and sustain a math workshop in their classrooms. This includes mapping the physical space and materials for learning, thinking through regular routines for the community, and leading various structures (launch, investigate, conferring with students, gallery walk, congress, other forms of assessment). It is intended for those  who are new to our work and philosophy of mathematics teaching and learning. Additionally, this is a great workshop for new teachers and/or those interested in revising their math teaching to make it “come alive” for kids.

When: Monday June 15 – Thursday June 18
Time: 9:00 – 3:00
Location: City College — 160 Convent Avenue
MITC Center — NAC Building, Room 3/217
